Ink Bamboo Album is a classic collection of bamboo paintings by Wu Zhen, one of the Four Great Masters of the Yuan Dynasty. It represents the highest level of literati ink bamboo painting in the Yuan Dynasty. The album focuses on the spirit and temperament of bamboo rather than superficial resemblance, using simple and elegant compositions to express the lofty and pure character of the traditional scholar-recluse. Each leaf and stalk is full of vitality, forming a peaceful and distant artistic realm that embodies the core pursuit of Yuan literati art.

In brush and ink techniques, Wu Zhen shows extremely mature calligraphic brushwork and subtle ink control. Bamboo stalks are drawn with round, steady, and vigorous strokes, showing strength and flexibility at the same time. Bamboo leaves are sketched with crisp and precise flicks, with clear layers and vivid gestures. He uses rich changes of dry, wet, thick, and light ink to express the texture and posture of bamboo, and makes good use of blank space to create an open and ethereal atmosphere. The whole album pursues the effect of expressing spirit through simplicity, reaching a perfect state of "writing with ink" rather than "drawing with color".

Art historically, Ink Bamboo Album has extremely high value and far-reaching influence. It inherits the tradition of Wen Tong and Su Shi’s bamboo painting and promotes literati bamboo painting to a more mature stage. The works perfectly integrate poetry, calligraphy, painting and seal, which became a model for later painters. It deeply influenced the development of ink bamboo painting in the Ming and Qing dynasties, and became an important classic for studying the spiritual connotation and aesthetic ideal of Chinese literati painting.
